"Avec toi" wedding mini album using Prima Something Blue

The first of my Prima Something Blue albums. Created in September 2015, this was the first project to use the Sizzix Big Shot machine which was an advance birthday present from TH :) "Advance" because I wanted to use the Sizzix for this project and just could not wait for November to end. ;)

Prima Something Blue is quite unlike the usual wedding collection with the customary surfeit of roses and cream and satin and gold and glitter. It is, as expected, vintage! Instead of pink and ivory, this is more of peach and faded rose, chalkboard black, and a hint of aqua. It is the perfect collection for a muted wedding album for a bride with a love for the times past. The friend I was making this for fit the description perfectly. <3

The collection has been discontinued by Prima so I was able to lay my hands on only a few elements from the collection--the 12x12 collection kit (2), the 3x4 ATC card pad, a set of stamps (not sure of the number and I have lost the packaging), and a pack of paper clips (which are darling!). I constructed the pages out of American Crafts black textured cardstock and used a few sheets or Fabriano textured white cardstock for matting.

As for the album construction, it is an altered 6x6" pocket page mini following Ginger's (My Sisters Scrapper) Pocket Page Mini Album Tutorial Series.

I increased the page size to measure 6x6 inches and increased the cover size to 6.5x7 inches because I wanted to accommodate as many of the 4x6 cut-aparts from the collection as I could. I also wanted the photo mat inserts to be bigger than the pockets--so I could add a decorative edge. Had to use the Big Shot, you see!

Alright, here are the pictures shot by TH at Cherrapunjee, a dreamy little hill station in India's North East which we visited before heading to the wedding at a city nearby.

Do you see the tiny shoe in the charm dangle? I missed getting a close up of the charms--sorry! :/ Oh! Those are stick pins I made :)

I used the Tim Holtz bracket die for the decorative edges here.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...

I used the Sizzix damask embossing folder for the magnetic flap and the vertical waterfall. The magnetic flap was cut using the Sizzix bracket die.

I could not bear to cover up the exquisite vintage peach roses--just created a tuck-spot at the bottom right hand corner.

The flap on the left contains two pockets to hold journaling cards and wallet sized photos. Flaps on both pages open out to reveal 6x6 photo spots underneath

Watch the album flip-through now!

Thank you for stopping by. And now as the sun peers out of the clouds in Laitkynsew village, I should head out on my trek. (Oh! how I wish I was still there.)

More soon!
xoxo
