Kaisercraft Lake House itty bitty mini|GDT project for Artsomecraft

Hello there, crafter friends!
Here is my third (and rather late) Guest Design Team project for Artsomecraft.com. Remember the absolutely gorgeous Kaisercraft papers Ashmita had sent over? Well, I made judicious use of them and got two albums out of the Lake House paper pack! This first is a large 6x8 inch vertical album (search for Amore on this blog) and the second this itty bitty mini--all of 4.25 inches square on the cover!

For the page style, I followed Ginger's Baby Mini Album Page Tutorial. Ginger teaches this page style in two sizes--this being the smaller one.

Yes, I am in an "itty bitty" phase right now--can think of little else but itty bitty minis (typically, 4x4 inch or thereabouts). These are quick, fun-to-make, do not exhaust your supplies and inspiration, and can be great presents even for non-crafters who can quickly fill these will wallet sized pictures :)

This is the first time I used pattern paper to wrap the outer chipboard cover--I love how it turned out! What do you think? (Oh, those polka dots! <3)

I wrapped pieces of chipboard with pattern paper and used them to add depth to the cover. Layered stickers, flowers, mdf words, a resin frame, etc. I wanted to keep the spine bare--to show off the dots. Hung a tiny key charm and some faux pearls on the front cover itself.

And now for the inside:

On the inside front cover, I added an acetate pocket (yes, I am kinda hooked on clear pockets, shaker windows, etc.) which holds a mini accordion fold album. (You can see it in the video demo.)

The pages are built and embellished the same way--just as with my previous GDT projects here, I wanted the papers to be in focus. I created these flowers using the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals die set. The leaves are from a Sizzix flower and leaf die.

Each double-sided page holds three tags (two in the side-loading pockets, and a large tag/photomat insert in the top loading pocket).

Pages 2~8

I used Ranger's Antique Linen to ink around the edges. I like how it works with the light colored base.
The back inside cover has a couple flip-up photo mats with a skinny pocket for tags on the front.

A final look!

So that was my itty bitty mini album using the Kaisercraft Lake House collection. Thank you for stopping by! Do leave a comment :)

Also, hop over to Artsomecraft.com for fabulous craft supplies! Their blog (linked on the store) houses amazing project shares by Ashmita herself--it's a treasure trove of inspiration!

Xoxo,
Suchi

  1. This is just lovely. Everything--the flowers and leaves, the polka dots, the way you've used the papers. The ink gives a nice touch. Very nice.
